Produced with grapes from the old vineyards of Quinta dos Frades where conventional Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Amarela and Tinto Cão are not included. The vineyards are between 150 to 300 m high with high density. The vast majority of these grapes were rejected for being colorless. However, they are shown to be able to preserve high levels of acids with moderate levels of alcohol.
